Why Chat Noir is flirting with Marinette (Ep 9 (7) spoilers)

So I was thinking about why Chat Noir would flirt with Marinette and trying to act all cool and smooth around her. I mean, if he doesn’t know she’s Ladybug, why would he flirt with her? Would he flirt with any girl? I don’t think he would flirt with just any girl. Look, as Adrien, whenever he tries to interact with Marinette she would just stutter, freak out and be super shy, he barely have a chance to get to know her. Maybe he even thinks she doesn’t like him. When Ladybug tells him to guard Marinette during the evening, I believe he wanted to impress her, see if she wouldn’t act as awkward around Chat Noir as she does around Adrien (because Adrien thinks he’s cooler as Chat Noir). He probably wanted to get to know her.

The day after, when Adrien asks Marinette what she thinks about Chat Noir ( HE HIDES BEHIND HER LOCKER AND LOOKS REALLY CURIOUS LIKE HE’S BEEN WAITING FOR HER ANSWER ), he might have done that in order to see if it was him (Adrien) she had a problem with. Of course he wanted to know her impression of Chat Noir. Also, trying to interpret his actions after he ends with “Okay, so that means… Yes.” he smiles at her, pats her shoulder and nods a little. This could either mean like, “You did great yesterday”, “Thank you for your input” or maybe “Thank you for helping me realise something important.” Or a ton of other things. At least he looks thankful/proud?

And also, one last thing. Up until now we haven’t really seen Chat flirting with anyone except Ladybug and Marinette. He didn’t even catch Alya after the Pharaoh dropped her from the Louvre (Episode 7 Korea, Episode 3 France), he clearly had the chance to do so but he didn’t. And he always seem to take one or three steps back from Chloé, even as Chat Noir. What could now all this mean? Is Adrien intrested in Marinette? Is Hawkdaddy trying to really throw us all onto the LadyNoir/Adrinette ship and no other ship? DOES ADRIEN KNOW MARINETTE IS LADYBUG? Probably not but still.
