Determination of Dosha causing death

The Dosha (humour) represented by the planet in the 8th House causes the disease that leads to death. If many planets occupy the 8th House, the body would be subject to several attacks resulting from the excess of various Humours indicated by such powerful planets leading to death.

Planets and factors causing death

If the Sun is in the 8th House death would result from fire. The factors involving in causing death when the other planets are posited in the 8th House are as follows:

Death results from water when the Moon is in the 8th House

Death results from weapons when Mars is in this House

Death results from fever when Mercury is in it

Death results from chronic diseases when Jupiter is in it

Death results from thieves when Venus is in this House and

Death results from starvation when Saturn in this House.

Dr. Raman says: “Each Dosha causes certain diseases and the exact nature of the disease from which a person dies should be ascertained with reference to the humour attributed to the planet, ruling, posited in or aspecting the 8th House of a horoscope.

How planets cause death

The Sun causes death by fever, apoplexy and Paralysis. The moon causes death from watery diseases, drowning, diarrhoea, dysentery and blood impurities. Mars bring about death by pneumonia, cholera, plague and such epidemics, hemorrhage, bronchitis, abortion, consequent to surgical operations, accidents resulting from gun shots etc. Mercury causes death due to fever of the brain, small pox, nervous disorders, whooping cough and assaults. Jupiter causes death from mental worry, or from some disease which cannot be diagnosed, pleurisy, liver disease, inflammation of lungs, heart failure and spasms. Venus brings about death from excessive thirst, fasting, excessive heat and venereal disease. Saturn is responsible for death from suffocation, burns, rheumatic fever, paralysis, melancholia and TB.
