Poring over you star sign is like second nature to some of us but what about zodiac signs as they pertain to our presidents? It might not be as juicy as finding out whether you're compatible with a potential new love interest but in some ways, knowing where our leaders fall on the zodiac can be entertaining and maybe even mildly telling, depending on how much you buy into astrology as a concept. It's not that zodiac signs offer concrete answers about a person's identity but, according to some astrologers, they may be useful in providing a bit of potential context based on the cosmos (which have been around a lot longer than any of us). “Certain signs might have more leadership qualities, staying power, or the ability to influence others with their voice or presence,” says Adama Sesay, a professional astrologer at LilithAstrology.com. Sesay points to Aquarius—the most-elected presidential zodiac sign along with Scorpio—as a sign that often embodies a dedication to the collective, which makes sense. “Signs like Leo and Taurus follow because [they] continue to go after their goals with vigor even when there are setbacks,” she says. Some astrologers also believe zodiac signs could play a part in indicating the chance of someone being elected at a certain time. "We look at where the planets are now and how they're positioned when super-imposed on [a person's] birth chart, as well as how well they resonate or clash," says Vanessa Montgomery, an astrologer who goes by the name Astro All-Stars. "One indicator, although not the only one: if Saturn is traveling high in the chart or low. That was the case when Obama was elected—Saturn was rising into a position of prominence, and so was Obama." Of course, that could be a coincidence but it's still cool to think about.

History of Married to a Scorpio Support Day

Astrology has played a crucial role in determining human behavior, worldviews and established many rituals. Before the invention of science and technology, humans had only the sky and their natural environment to seek answers about the world. Astrology became a way for early humans to look at the sky, patterns of the stars, and the moon’s cycles to find meaning about their existence and the workings of the vast and unknown world. Astrology has its roots dating back to the third millennium B.C. where West Eurasian people took cues from astronomical cycles to form calendars and navigate the sequence of seasons. Astrology’s influence was far-reaching. In 13th-century Europe, astrology was a part of medical treatment, and doctors studied the stars and celestial cycles to formulate their treatment. By the 1500s in Europe, a law stated physicians had to calculate the moon’s position before performing complex medical procedures, like surgery. Astrology’s validity as an authentic and legitimate field of knowledge started decreasing by the 17th century due to science and astronomy emerging. Several scientific concepts that were based on hard, quantifiable facts ruled out many of the assumptions astrology had been perpetuating. Astrology slowly became relegated to the category of pseudoscience, however, it saw a rise in popularity again in the 20th century when it started being supplied as newspaper horoscopes and zodiac signs. We now see zodiac signs as one of the biggest influencing factors behind one’s personality.
