Many think the post-nuptials honeymoon phase is the tops when it comes to a marriage reaching levels of bliss. But a recent study, published in Social Networks and the Life Course, begs to differ. According to a team of researchers from Pennsylvania State and Brigham Young University, married couples reached their happiest point at the 20-year mark. For the study, scientists looked at relationship satisfaction in 2,034 marriages with an average age of 35-37. Through their analyses, they determined that couples who last 20 years actually spend more time doing activities together when compared to those in their honeymoon period, Business Insider reported. Interestingly, researchers also found that happiness levels decrease gradually up to the 20-year mark, before increasing after that marriage milestone.
