Unfair Teacher Practices

Unfair Teacher Practices means practices or activities done by the teachers which are not Ethically / Mentally / Emotionally and some time legally valid and which leads to humiliation or felt discrimination to the students on the basis of his/her regularism, cast, color, percentage, favoritism, poorness, richness, popularity, fame or their look and also some time lead to suicide even all are paying same fees.

Here reasons for taking such isolated and untouched topic are…

➢ To Highlight some unfair practices done by teachers.

➢ To booked oppose for such unfair practices.

➢ To remove such discrimination with students.

➢ To raise the voice of students.

➢ To give wake up call to the concern Management & Government.

➢ To Show that students are not fool, they are not raising their voice because of teacher are threatening to students for fail.

➢ To highlight on teacher side ragging.

So let’s start with some major Unfair Teacher Practices which I was felt during my whole study life as well as responses received from my research.

❖ Major Unfair Teacher Practices are…

1) To Discriminate students by their regularism, cast, color, percentage, favoritism, poorness, richness, popularity, fame or their look. 2) If some students are not arguing with teachers, they are very favorite and intelligent and those who are arguing, they are dull and many times bulling by teacher in front of whole class. It is also one of the reason for leaving school and attempt subside. 3) To Discriminate students in examination, Those students are favorite for teacher are getting good and many times they are top in schools and colleges, and those who are not favorite scored lower mark and sometime teacher failed that students as well. 4) Always like to listen good comment on their lecture, no one allowed to argue on topic, if anyone did so, teachers are bulling them, or they are comes under black list of teacher. 5) To motivate and allow in participation of any school or Colleges competition and celebration to only their favorite students only irrespective of talent and willingness. 6) Rules & Regulation or strictness are applicable for only non-favorite students only. 7) To give positively and gently answer to those students only who asking some favorable questions related to topics. 8) Teachers are always believed that they are always right and no one have right to arguing with him/her.

9) Sometime bulling or ragging are starting from teachers only.

10) To give more attention on only some selected students, rest of are just like a “Bhed-Bakri” even all are paying same fees. 11) To bulling on their religion / cast / skin tone / Language / Look etc in front of whole class. 12) Particularly in India, Lowering or joking on person who are not able to speak properly English by class teacher itself.

13) Many competitions and annual certificates are made with biasness and favoritism.

14) Biasness with the students even all are paying same fees and all have similar right to taking education is one of the major Unfair teacher practices. 15) If someone scored highest marks in External or university examination, but same students are scored lower markers in internals exam, so it is also one of the unfair teacher practices. 16) As per the teachers review some particular students are dull or dump and after education he/she become a very good and successful professional even better than the favorite students, it is also one of the unfair teacher practice. 17) Many time in schools, those students who are studding in class teacher’s own tuition classes are scored good marks in all exams and rest of the students are scored lower marks than such students, it is also one of the unfair teacher practices. 18) Scored good marks only those students who are going in class teacher’s personal tuition classes, rest of are always getting lower than such students. 19) Not capable teacher for that particular subject is also one of the unfair teacher practices. 20) Biases / discrimination / isolation / Bulling etc are major Unfair Teacher Practices.

❖ Case Studies

Here I am trying to explain some mostly used unfair practices, I am sure many of you are ever felt of currently feel during your study life. (All Cases are based on responses received and personal experiences)

➢ Case -1 : School V/S Favoritism

Biases and favoritism are started from school life itself. All students in the schools are almost fresher by their mind; whatever teachers are said and act they followed and believed. In such case if teachers are doing biases / discrimination /favoritism, students are also felt that it is normal and as human we all have to possess this kind of behavior and attitude. “If Foundation is weak, whole building will be going to crash in near future” As per the information received, starting point of Unfair Practice is to discriminate students on the basis of their intelligence / face color / Personality & richness. In such case teachers are only allowed to take part in to any competition or school events to the favorite students, rest of are always becoming an audience irrespective of talent and willingness.

Also, as per the information received, some students are getting good marks just because they are doing person tuition classes with class teacher. I think such common experience everyone felt once in his/her school life. Sometime such students getting rank in the school irrespective of his/her ability and knowledge of that particular subject. So such kind of practices and activities are known as unfair Teacher Practices as per my point of view.

➢ Case -2 : Colleges / Education

Institutions V/S Discrimination

Living College Life is one of the dreams of every student. But major discrimination will be happened or happened in College life itself. We everyone experienced that those students who are asking more questions in favor of topic are the most favorite students of every teacher. I am not targeting here favoritism but due to such favoritism teachers doing discriminations with rest of the students even all are paying same and same education rights. As per the information received, many of respondents are felt such discrimination in their College life. Teachers are just giving proper answers to those students who are either scholars or favorite, if anyone asks any question and especially question is for arguing teacher’s topic than teachers are insulting or humiliate in front of whole class. They are not every time being fair with all students. Average students are mostly face discrimination in terms of getting answers of his/her questions, Internal examination marks and also taking part of some events of the College. As per my personal experience, some teachers are always doing gender biases. Female teachers are mostly liked only male students and male teachers are mostly like only female students. They are not behaved or give proper answer to one or other gender. And also they are doing discrimination in between good looking students and rest of the others. They are giving them some special privileges along with good mark in internal examination irrespective of talent and knowledge. And on other hand, they are behaved with some students just like a “Bhed-Bakri” irrespective of his/her salary comes from all students fees not only favorite students fees. Such teachers are not covered under the definition of “Guru” they are just like a “Businessman” And also as per the information received, If students are using their brain in front of teachers than those students are in black list, and they always scored lower marks in internal even they are scored higher in university examination, those students are top 5 in university are getting lower marks in internal examination and those who are performed average in external examination are scored higher in internal examination. I am not here to oppose any students who getting good marks, but such marking system is totally based on favoritism and full of biases. I am not able to understood that those students are top 5 in university, how can they get lower mark in internals? Yes I can agree with that, his/her attendance is lower than the others, his/her presentation skills are poor than the others, but what when all are good rather average, and they get minimum passing marks, and they are coming in top 5 in university, but due to such discrimination some brilliant students can’t get their distinction or even targeted percentage because they got minimum passing marks in internal as they are not under the favorite list of teachers. So such discrimination may be normal as per management point of view but as per my point of view such behavior and attitude are come under the Unfair teacher Practices. And I am just opposing these unfair practices. I am not here opposing to teacher as profession. As per my view teachers are makers, who can make us successful by giving proper knowledge as well as thought good behavior and attitudes toward the others, in short they make us human. Due to such bad experiences many students are become a negative towards the teachers and institutes, and they are not giving much help to the College as alumni. And one thing is very sure and true that for every College that strong Alumni support is one of the best and most important Assets. But with such kind of behavior and attitude of teachers always leads to wrong impression on alumni of those particular Colleges.

From the received responses, I can say that now we have to give attention on “Unfair Teacher Practices”. At the end of my research, I conclude… ✓ If students are going through with such attitude and behavior of the teachers, students are also learning same attitude and behavior from their teacher. ✓ Sometime such bulling leads to suicide of students and also students have fear to going in the schools. ✓ We all know teachers are makers but doing such practices they their selves be a destroyer of student’s life or mental stability. ✓ It leads to mental weakness / Less Self-confidence / Less motivation/ Negative attitude/ Anti-humanity/ Non-helping nature / Stress etc.

✓ Effect on student’s performance.

✓ Effect on his/her mark sheet and score ratio, due to that they are facing many difficulties during their job interviews in reputed companies. So, such kind of practices are also covering under the mentally / physically harassment Laws. It is become a serious problem while we talk about less quality of students. So let’s make one team in our management who looking for Unfair Teacher Practices along with Anti Ragging Team. At the end of my blog I just want to say that such practices are not tolerated and expecting from our “GURU” Teachers, but it is time to raise student’s voice against the “Unfair Teachers Practices”

❖ Suggestions

1. To know psychology of the students and treat them with their level of knowledge which they are able to understand. 2. Never Insult to any students in from class or poke for their weakness.

3. Do not give special privileges and favoritism to the specific students.

4. To make Positive & Friendly environment with all students.

5. Motivation is must when they are getting down.

6. Extra classes and Smart work requires specially for weaker students.

7. Practical knowledge along with bookish Knowledge.

8. Encouragement is must.

9. Gender equality among the students.

Here Major Impact which require is must i.e., they are in need when they are at the growth stage, because if we grow plant they require water and daily care to get it fruits. So as simple is that the child require the knowledge and techniques , understanding and equal care to grow into their life to get better result. Secondly teachers are well aware of psychology of the students as they have teach into their studies during their college but they have only taken information never implemented they only taken as theoretical part implementation is still not yet done. Students what they observe from teacher, how they behave with others i.e., if teachers are behave with others wrongly then students will learn jealousy, race, superiority, Favoritism, etc. and it affect their personal & professional life as well.

✓ I am also thankful to my hidden helpers and criticizers.

❖ Notes for Criticizer

✓ Here I am not targeted to any profession or community directly and in directly. ✓ This is research based blog, where respondents are less so might be results was not accurate, but I am trying to cover all points what I have received and personally experienced. ✓ Here I just mentioned overall view of my research, as research protocol that not revel anyone names and same case on air.
