I've always known my best friend and I had something special. We have always been extremely close, but I always knew deep down that it was something more. I never knew our friends could be our soulmates as well. I always thought that title was only given to one's significant other or the person one marries. She usually responds with, “Something just urged me to call you.” As strange (and almost psychic) as these experiences have been, they have proven to us both that we are connected on a level that's deeper than we ever thought. I know what you're thinking. No, you don't have to have weird, psychic experiences for you and your best friend to be soulmates. But if you and your best friend truly are soulmates, you have a good understanding of her feelings in most situations. It's almost as if they are yours. (Yes, annoying someone is amusing AF.)

We all get protective about certain people in our lives. It's just what love does to you. If you love someone, you naturally want the best for him or her. Alternatively, whoever f*cks with this person f*cks with you. For some reason, you become angrier about it than if someone were to have done it to you. But something is different with your soulmate. If this person is in pain, you feel it too. I can't tell you how many times my best friend has cried to me about something major in her life, and I have felt every emotion with her. If she feels hopeless, I feel hopeless. Something inside me doesn't feel at ease until she's OK. In a strange way, her happiness is my happiness, and vice versa. I can't tell you if someone is your soulmate or not. Only you can make that call. But if you feel connected to this person on a deeper level, that's a big enough sign in and of itself.
