The Soulmate Equation is the last book I’m going to read by Christina Lauren.

It’s not working out.

The first book I read by them was In a Holidaze. I liked it but not my favorite. The second book was The Unhoneymooners. I was so excited to read it and then my excitement went down the drain halfway through. The third book, I waited for The Soulmate Equation to be available in bookstores because I like the purple cover more than the yellow and when I finally saw it I bought it immediately! Now I’m sad because it’s not as good as I hoped it would be and I wish I bought something else instead. I’m not saying Christina Lauren are terrible writers. I’m only saying that their writing isn’t for me like how Titanic is a masterpiece and yet I don’t love it.

The Soulmate Equation Spoiler

Jessica Davis always sees this guy ‘Americano’ in the coffee shop. One day, the person working in the coffee shop tells Jessica and Fizzy (Jessica’s bestfriend) that Americano is going to launch a matchmaking company. Not the same day, Jess asks Americano, whose real name is Dr. River Peña, about the matchmaking and he invites Jess and Fizzy to go to the office and spit. Spit to get their DNA for matchmaking. Fizzy joins the matchmaking and go on dates. Blah blah blah.. after a not-so-good day, Jess uses her kit to submit her spit/DNA. The matchmaking company, GeneticAlly, asks Jess to come in the office. They tell her that she and River have the highest compatibility ever which is 98%. GeneticAlly offers to pay Jess just to date River. Jess really needs the money.

Jess and River get interviewed with photoshoot and go to a party.

Jess gets a call her grandmother is in the hospital. Jess stays there and River offers to help with her daughter.

Jess goes to River’s place and they have sex.

Jess finds out that their (Jess and River’s) data is wrong. Turns out River’s coworkers doctored their data and they really aren’t 98% compatible. Ending: River plans to propose to Jessica but Jessica beats him to it and proposes to River. Important note: please do note that I wasn’t enjoying this book so I skipped paragraphs and this spoiler isn’t complete due to my skipping. I’m also terrible at summarization. I didn’t include the parts about Jessica’s mom, Jessica’s daughter, and other parts that I probably skipped lol
